Do is one of our 6 Pillars of Wellbeing. It’s all about learning new things to strengthen your neural pathways and keep your brain functioning at its best.
You’ll know you’re reaping the benefits of Do when you’re:
Engaging the brain
Learning new things
Spending time on hobbies or interests
A great way to bring the Do Pillar into your workplace is by creating some Do-inspired rituals with your team. Rituals are things you do to weave wellbeing into your day, like breathing breaks or walking meetings.
Here are some ritual ideas that align with our Do Pillar.
Share some goodness from the Groov app. We have plenty of thought-provoking articles, videos, courses, and quizzes to engage people’s brains.
Do a daily quiz together. Set aside time to complete a daily or weekly quiz together. Many news websites run daily quizzes that are fun to crack as a team.
Commit to regular team building activities. From cooking classes to board games, there are plenty of team building activities that are great for the brain.
Learn a new language together. Commit as a team to learning basic greetings in another language.
Offer training and development opportunities. Keep your people feeling fresh and engaged with regular opportunities to learn and grow.
Host ‘lunch and learn’ events. A great way for everyone to learn new things, and for different experts to share what they know with the wider team.
Give people time to complete the Embed Modules. Our learning modules teach wellbeing in a fun, engaging way.
Run social groups. Encourage people to connect over shared interests.
Plan a ‘Down Tools Day’. For people to work on personal projects or hobbies.
Include time for small talk during meetings. Give people a chance to chat about their weekend plans and personal interests.
Every workplace and team is unique, so experiment with different rituals until you find some that stick. The most important thing is to commit to rituals as a team. Doing things together improves communication, increases trust, and builds empathy. And when the whole team is on board, it makes it much easier to make Do a normal part of daily life at work.
